Today we saw five crews reach finals but even more importantly we saw all our crews put in amazing efforts regardless of the outcome.  I am always impressed at how hard our athletes work on race day.  This effort will serve us well as we continue to improve and prepare for the Canadian Championships June 1st, 2nd and 3rd.  In fact today was a bit of a dress rehearsal as we were able to race on the same course the championships will be run.

We learned so much today about our ourselves, our competition, and what we need to do to improve faster.  I’m looking forward to see how much we can improve over the remaining three weeks of the high school season. Today we saw five crews reach finals.  Brandon Tempest was able to get there twice in the Senior Mens Single and then again in the Senior Mens 72kg single.  The junior boys quad of Noah Girotti, Josh Trudel, Connor Moffat and Adrian Hartman also reached the final in their first race together as a quad.  Capturing medals were the Junior Woman’s Four of Rachel Lauder, Lauren Piedl, Samantha Augustine, Tressa Masstrioanni, and Nicole Power (bronze) followed by a silver medal in the Junior Woman’s 59kg four which saw Rachel, Lauren, Samantha and Tressa teamed up with Kristen Power.
